Helen Rose Roberts started her professional music career in Ottawa, but when she was featured on CBC during the yearly Blues Festival at the Rainbow Room, she knew it was time to make a move to a bigger city.

In 1991 she made Vancouver her home. She spent ten years fronting a blues band under the name Blue Rose performing in A list venues in Vancouver and Lower Mainland.

Knowing how big a film and TV city Vancouver is, Helen Rose gave up the stage to further her education. She studied acting and voice acting at The Gastown Actors Studio and Lyric School of Acting, then attained a Bachelor of Media Arts at Emily Carr in 2006.
